V2K, Inc. is a training and consulting company established in 1990 and based in Yorktown, VA. Phyllis M. Henderson is the founder and
president of the company. She and her son, Ché D. Henderson, are the principal consultants. The V2K, Inc. service history is one of longevity.
With more that 35 years in the industry, we have developed the in-depth knowledge and skills needed to guide businesses to achieve their desired outcomes. We have a team of 9 trainers, facilitators, and a senior consultant who work with the principal consultants, to strategically plan and structure business solutions.

- Phyllis served as a life/work planning and assessment testing vendor for 20-years with The Alliance for Employee Growth and Development, a labor management organization of AT&T, Lucent Technologies, CWA, IBEW, and Avaya.
- She was a certified trainer with The Forum, Boston, MA in Exceptional Management Practices. She was certified to conduct the three levels of diversity training for IBM, JPMorgan Chase, and AT&T. Phyllis developed the diversity orientation and follow-up training for Infineon and Qimonda Semiconductor Manufacturing, Richmond, VA. She and Ché developed the diversity and inclusion program nation-wide and Canada, for Wolseley North America, the parent company of Ferguson Enterprises, Stock Builders, and subsidiaries.
- She was certified by IBM, AT&T, and JPMorgan-JPMorgan Chase to conduct their respective diversity and inclusion training programs for more than 7-years.
- Phyllis received post-graduate training in diversity and inclusion, leadership/life coaching and transformation, and exceptional management practice (The Forum in Boston, MA).
- She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Community Work
Phyllis served two terms on the Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg Board and a three-year term on the U.S. Council of Habitat for Humanity; Charter Board Member for the Victory Branch of the YMCA in Yorktown, VA. In 2003, she was appointed by Governor Mark Warner to serve a four-year term on the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Board

Phyllis is a 2003 graduate of the Hampton Roads Civic Leadership Institute. She is a Golden Life member of the NAACP. On April 30, 2008, Phyllis received the YWCA Virginia Peninsula Women of Distinction Award for the diversity work she conducted in the areas of Racial Justice and Civil Rights. In April 2009, V2K, INC. was a finalist for the A. Philip Randolph Award presented by the Urban League of Hampton Roads, Inc., She received recognition for serving as one of the WHRO (Public Radio) facilitators, for their community programs “Colors All Our Own”
Her hobbies are bridge and traveling. Phyllis is married to Dwight D. Henderson, Esq. They have two adult sons, one daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and three grand dogs.

Ché is an enterprising professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. He has a proven track record as a DEIB facilitator and trainer. Ché has more than eighteen-years of experience as a consultant, executive coach, trainer, and risk manager. He is proficient in the application of Myers-Briggs-Type Indicator and
I OPT---aligned with leadership, team building, communication, and conflict resolution. Some of the outstanding qualities he demonstrates are his positive attitude and accountable approach to work/life opportunities, challenges, and change. In addition, he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Ché conducts diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) workshops, life/work planning seminars, and transitional services training. He develops and conducts surveys for focus groups and performance improvement training. He analyzes the survey data to determine training needs. He manages the marketing and promotional activities for V2K, Inc.
- Ché coordinated the training activities for the Oakton Alliance Local Committee. He produced a bi-monthly training newsletter. He provided life/work planning activities and credit technology workshops.
- Insurance owner-agent- Ché islicensed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). His career path is focused on empowering people with the knowledge and the tools to better manage llife and work.

- Ché worked as a liaison between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the private sector as an analyst. He provided project management and technical support to the FAA for technical, schedule, budget, and performances associated with coordinating various telecommunications infrastructure. Community Work
Ché chairs the Board of Directors of the Annie Belle Reavis Tuccori Foundation (Provides financial support to non-profits in Hampton Roads). He was a past president and treasurer for Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. He served on the Bernadine Franciscan Sisters Foundation Board, and the Versability Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the Hampton Roads Civic Leadership Institute and served a 3-year term on the Civic Board of Directors. Ché served on the Hampton Chapter, Board of the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC). He was active with People to People, an organization focused on improving race relations and the quality of life for the citizens of Newport News, VA. He led their initiative to pass the leadership torch to the next generation. Ché was recognized by Inside Business as one of the top 40 under 40 in Hampton Roads. He was a charter member of the Hampton Roads Young Professionals and played pro soccer in San Salvador, El Salvador. Ché’s hobbies are soccer, golf, and traveling. He is married to Megan Alexander, DVM. They have two children and three dogs.

Starr Mayer is a senior consultant with V2k, Inc., a volunteer child advocate and writer. She is the author of "When Bad Things Happen to Good Organizations." Starr brings an enthusiasm of spirit to any task she undertakes, a statement made by Scot Dewhisrs, Attorney at Law and Co-Director of the Center for Dispute Resolution, Capital University Law School. She has excellent communication and analytical skills. She has more than 30-years of experience consulting, training, and coaching. Starr resides in Tacoma, Washington.
Starr served as the Senior Advisor for Habitat for Humanity International for fourteen years. She directed policy, procedures and standards for 1,700 US Habitat affiliates. She directed and performed Program Reviews for affiliates which had significant organizational problems and she intervened in crisis situations. Her reponsibilities included managing a staff of 12. Starr trained the US staff, affiliate staff and volunteers in risk prevention.Her experience includes:• Serving as a member of the US Senior Leadership Team, reporting to VP for US/Canada• Project Manager, Rural Initiative - Developed plan to assist 1,000 rural Habitat Affiliates across the US• Developed evaluation tool available to national organization• US Council Representative• Executive Director, Peninsula Habitat for Humanity• Led workshops on Conflict Management for US staff and for several regions. *Facilitated original Executive Director’s Advisory Council for US Capital University, Columbus, Ohio- 1985-1995• Director of International Education• Director of Jamaica Service Internship Program. Developed international program to focus on international students studying at the university, US students studying overseas, and international exchange programs. • Developed Jamaica Service Internship—a study abroad program which attracted students from universities across the country including Yale, Harvard, and several Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s)• Worked with government and non-profit agencies in Jamaica, as well as with the University of the West Indies; supervised Jamaican faculty.
• Co-conducted mediation program in Jamaica for police, lay magistrates and community leaders which is still in effect; received commendation from the Governor General . (This program was initially funded by the Ford Foundation.)
Community Work
Starr has currently been a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for seven years in Pierce County, WA, working with children who are dependent and living outside their homes. The work involves supporting caregivers, gathering information, and coordinating with other professionals such as attorneys, social workers, school personnel.
Starr's community engagement in Jamaica includes - conducted trainings in conflict resolution and mediation for police, lay magistrates, and community leaders such as clergy, US Chamber of Commerce, Jamaica Institute of Management, Jamaica Association of Probation Officers
In Virgina she provided training for the Virginia Synod of the Lutheran Church for non-profit administrators in Youth for Understanding, National Association of Foreign Student Advisers. Starr mediated church conflicts through synod programs of Bridge Builders and Healthy Congregations in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and she mediated criminal and civil disputes through the Columbus Night Prosecutor’s Program, Columbus, Ohio.
